Jatrophabook submits proposal to Google.org
Today Jatrophabook submitted a Project proposal to Google's philanthropic arm Google.org for the pilot program Geo Challenge Grants. The Geo Challenge program seeks toenable organizations to create maps that will enhance their work and impact to address the global challenges of our age as climate change and poverty.
Jatrophabook submitted a proposal aiming to improve the existing maps and tools and develop new ones. Main part of the proposal's text can be read by clicking here.

According to what has been published in their website, we should know if the proposal is of some interest for them around the end of February. IMO one of the biggest challenge is to make people fully aware of the importance ane potential of this approach.
I agree, the idea of supporting green activities (sustainable biofuel production) and in particular the development of interactive maps and GIS system to be used for no profit purposes seems very interesting for us (www.agroils.com). I hope we can stimulate the grant proposition doing some information to private/companies to enjoy the community. Today we are 500, I hope we can be 1,000 very soon.
I understand that it is a wonderful idea and fully support the intention, Google is a global institution in terms of geographical location and I think we as users Jatrophabook we have a duty to support these initiatives.
