Short description of the project: Farm site managed by African Power Initiative (API). Jatropha is inter-cropped with castor and candlenut to produce oilseeds for biodiesel production. The farm-site lies within Karamoja, a region of Northeastern Uganda that is experiencing irregular rainfall due to climate change. Cattle rustling has become a problem among the pastoralist communities, and the inhabitants are in need of earning a livelihood.
